Mister Splodge was the first Ed Glassonbury trained runner from the Stockton hall base for the 2016/2017 point to point season when going to post for the club members race. It looked a very strong field and he performed with huge credit finishing third behind two high class performers, he travelled and jumped superbly before staying on again at the finish. The Brotherton family kindly gifted the horse to relative Guy Middleton so that son Harry could gain some experience in point to points. He certainly looks the perfect type to give Harry this much needed experience and should give him plenty of fun this season. Harry will now take the ride.
The Ibbster was our second and final runner of the day and certainly didn't let us down, he had been in great form and seemed a much improved horse at home and he duly carried this forward to the track when running out a comfortable winner. Ed gave him a lovely ride throughout before sending him to the front at the last fence and winning the 13 runner maiden race comfortably by 8 lengths. He will now head to Bangor on Dee for the restricted race, we hope to give this lightly raced 7 year old some more experience in point to points this season before possibly progressing to a career under rules.
