The weekend started off with us taking Nortonthorpelegend to Brampton Bryan on Saturday. He travelled much better than has been the case this season and possibly just bumped into a very progressive type. His time will come before long!
We then headed to our local track Bangor on Dee on Sunday with 7 runners. The day started with Late Romantic running in the Open Maiden and he showed a lot of promise and hope for the future with a very close 2nd. He traveled and jumped superbly since it was his debut and it was only inexperience that cost him the victory.
We then moved on to stable star and local celebrity Threapwood running in the Mixed open and he once again won at his favourite course. He won going away and this was good for his local owners who certainly enjoyed celebrating their victory!
Our Crusade was a respectable 3rd behind two good horses and should find a race before the seasons up. Sparkle Star gave Ryan a great ride to finish 4th in the Confined, on only his second ride!
We were represented by Desert Sting and Alfapoint in the Restricted race, Desert Sting again ran his race to finish a close 2nd. He will be winning again very soon hopefully! He certainly deserves to! Alfapoint improved from his seasonal debut to finish 5th and should win his Restricted, especially when it dries up!
Our last runner of the weekend was promising sort Beware of Bear who was only beaten a neck on his debut here! He came to win his race at the last but through greeness got headed close home! The horse who beat him has been running in opens and there was a long way back to the third horse so the form certainly looks solid!
We have entries at Whittington and Sandon on Saturday and at Eyton on Severn on Sunday and should be represented at all 3 tracks!
