A weekend to remember

It was always going to be a busy weekend with no racing for two weeks previous, we had four runners at Brocklesby on Saturday. Sprint de Ferbet was having his first run for me and finished a promising 3rd carrying a 7lb penalty so I was really pleased with that run. Sheriff Hutton finished 3rd aswell it was a competitve Mens open but I was a little disapointed with him and I might try some head gear on him at home and see if it helps. Mr Trump and The Wychough both won in two competitve races, I was really pleased with them both and amazed how much they have matured since last year. They both jumped and travelled really well and will give us a lot of fun this season - Fingers Crossed!

We had seven runners at Chaddesley Corbett on Sunday, it was a hectic day with a lot of runners and not much time between races. I was chuffed with all the runners, Tergal was having his first run, he got a little detached but gave me a good feel and will improve for the experience. Captive Audience and Forlovenormoney didn't handle the sticky going and will be different horses on top of the ground. Mollanna View ran a cracker in a competitive race, he would also want better ground I feel. Tinkwood ran a very gutsy race to finish second to a good horse of Sheila Crow's, she seems to get outpaced early on but stays on well and I will try her over a longer trip. Threapwood was the highlight of the day winning Division 2 of the Maiden and getting the fastest time out of all three divisions. He was still quite green and didn't really know what to do when he got in front but just did enough to hold on and will have learnt a huge amount form the experience.
