We have had a smaller team of horses than normal this summer so have not had as many runners, but they continue to run well. Since our last newsletter, Cawthorne has won again and been an unlucky second making it three out of four this season and increasingly notching up an impressive record. He has really improved this season and is taking his races well, clearly enjoying himself and giving his owners, The Back to the Track Syndicate, a great deal of fun.
Faro has been a revelation back over hurdles and having finishing second at Bangor at the end of July we were delighted to see him win at the last Bangor meeting in a hotter contest. He always looked a promising horse before seemingly having lost his way, so it was great to see him back on form and enjoying himself again.
We will stick to hurdles with him and there is plenty of fun to be had with him into the Autumn. His owners are all local to Bangor and very keen racing fans so it was a very special two days for everyone.
Lucky Lover Boy was our 14th winner of the season at Sedgefield, he has been such a legend for us in the early days and his latest win was fifth for the yard.
El Borracho, who has been a stable star over the past three seasons, ran a cracker on the flat at Nottingham to finish third. Unfortunately, he tripped coming out of the stalls so had to start from behind and, despite a muddling pace that didn’t play to his strengths, he ran extremely well and stayed on strongly all the way to the line.
