Big weekend for the yard with 8 runners under rules.

Big weekend for the yard with 8 runners under rules.

Its going to be a busy weekend for all here at Stockton Hall with 4 runners at Uttoxeter on Saturday and 3 runners making the trip north up to Carlisle on Sunday and Rock Warbler heading to wolverhampton.

Jaunty Thor will hopefully get the weekend off to a positive start when he is back over hurdles at a track he has previously won at and we feel he should be competitive in this grade. Rob Hawker 3lb will be handy off top weight.

Attentions then move on to Lord County who has already been a dual winner for us this season and will be looking to add to his tally on Saturday. This looks slightly less competitive than last time and should be in the shake up with our stable amateur Ed Glassonbury taking off a valuable 7lb.

Ed will also be aboard Late Romantic (Pictured above - thanks to JTW Photography) in the 4:15, Ed partnered him when winning 2 point to points impressively for Dan Astbury this season so it only makes sense to keep the partnership between horse and Jockey. We feel he should go very close in this grade.

Our final runner on Saturday sees Blue Ballerina make her debut in the mares bumper, it will be testing conditions for any newcomer but she seemed to enjoy the soft ground when we took her for a racecourse gallop so we are keen to allow her to take her chance. She shows ability at home but will improve massively for the experience. Its good to be able to get Tom O'Brien to ride her.

On Sunday we make the trip up to Carlisle with 3 nice prospects.

Fort Jefferson will be looking to improve on his third place at Market Rasen last time, this represents a slight drop in grade and with conditions looking set to suit we are hopeful of a good run. Rob Hawker rode him last time and will again be aboard.

We then move on to Asking Questions who will be looking to repeat his victory at the track last month, he seemed to improve for fences that day and he has been in good order at home since. Its great to have Harry Skelton aboard again and we are hopeful of a big run.

Our final runner of the weekend sees Spirit of Waterloo make his racecourse debut in the bumper at Carlisle, he shows plenty at home but whatever he does this year is a bonus as he will improve massively for a summer on his back and when he fills his frame.
