After waiting over 20 years for another point to point winner in his own colours, it was great to see Dave Bostock back in the winner’s enclosure on Sunday when Desert won the 2m4f maiden at Tabley point to point. Dave Bostock is involved in several horses including our own Our Crusade and The Wychough, who run in the colours of the Ridgeway racing club.
Through Ridgeway he has enjoyed four winners in the last three seasons, but the win of ‘Dessie’ in his own colours was extremely special.
Ed Glassonbury took the initiative early on in the race and Desert Sting produced an excellent front run performance, taking the race by 30 lengths.
The win took trainer Oliver Greenall to a tally of eight winners this season.
