We got our season started on Monday 28th December with two runners at Chaddesley Corbett, where we were represented by Our Crusade and Desert Sting,in what were very gruelling conditions.
Our Crusade got his season underway in the opening conditions race. This was a big step up in class for him, taking on high class open horses and top class recruits from the national hunt game. He found the company, and the very testing conditions, slightly against him when pulling up but showed enough promise to carry forward to his next run.The race was won by Our Mick who is trained by our ex jockey Sam Allwood,so well done to Sam and his team!
Desert Sting ran in the second division of the 2 mile 4 furlong Restricted race.he ran a mighty race, attempting to make all, before being collared on the line by a fast progressing mare. He jumped superbly and was very unlucky to get caught in the last few yards! This was a very good start to the season for the horse in what was an extremely good race. The third horse has an official rating of 124 so he shouldn't have any trouble picking up a race in the near future, before a possible tint at a handicap of what is starting to look like a very lenient handicap mark!
Our focus now turns to Sheriff Hutton on 10th January where we could have multiple runners including : Norton Grove, Capellanus, Threapwood and The Ibbster.
