I was pleased with how the horses ran at Garthorpe it was competitive racing and they all showed promise. Garthorpe does a fantastic job with the ground and thus attract good horses. I will have to be very careful where I run my horses from now on and not be tempted by weak races, especially with my young horses who are not used to the firm ground and dont look after themselves like older horses do. I am glad I started the season early as we got some decent ground and got plenty of runs into all the horses before this dry spell came, which means I will not be under as much pressure to run.
I have entered at Brampton Bryan this weekend and hope to run Captive Audience and Tinkwood but will wait and see what the ground is like towards the end of the week before making a decision.
