It is the end of the 2023/24 season, and what a season it has been! With 58 winners we are lucky to walk away with many highlights. With good memories and times to be had, lets take a look at back through the 2023/24 season highlights…
To kick it off with we have Gesskille winning at France, under a brilliant ride from James Reveley, winning the €120,000.
2 winners on the same day at taking us to 16 winners at Carlisle. The prolific White Rhinno carried on where he left last season and got his head back in front of his first run of the season under Toby Wynne. Our second of the day was a lovely young horse Making Headway under Henry Brooke who looked very professional and looks like an exciting horse going forward.
Next up is our Iroko, where he wins impressively on his chase debut at Warick, giving us win 21! He travelled strongly before taking up the lead at the last and winning very nicely. He seemed to travel through the race a lot stronger today and opened up plenty of options for the rest of the season! Given a lovely ride by Jonjo O’neill Jnr and we saw him have a bright future through the rest of season.
Gesskille again… Giving us winner 22 of the season, and what a fantastic one it was, where he deservedly won the Grand Sefton over the National fences! He was given a great ride under Henry Brooke who always had him in the perfect position.
It was devastating for all of the staff at Stockton Hall and the owners to have lost our lovely Gesskille. He was loved by everyone in the yard and was such a special horse to all of us. He gave us so many great memories and will be sadly missed by everyone.
We had another double win in a day at Cheltenham and Doncaster back in November! The first was Homme Public who was a slightly lucky winner of the grade 2 Arkle trail but he jumped brilliantly and that stood him in good stead in the end. Secondly, Gaboriot followed up his Kempton success with a stylish win jumping fantastic under a lovely ride by Craig Nichol.
Winner 36 season of the season came as Making Headway wins a competitive novice hurdle at Newbury. He had to make all of the running and did it in great fashion. He was given a great front running ride by Henry Brooke and turned into a very exciting prospect as we continued through the season. Big well done to his owner!
Billytherealbigred gave us 2 wins in 10 days! Firstly bringing in our 41st winner at Warwick, where he was very impressive and relished the very soft ground. Then he brought us winner 42, winning emphatically by 45 lengths on this occasion at a very wet Market Rasen! He is thriving and loved the testing underfoot conditions once again. Well done to his owner/breeder Peter Conway.
Gentleman Bill bolts up on rules debut bringing us winner 49 of the season. He travelled with ease through the race and out of the race to bed in a very pleasing fashion. He was given a lovely ride by Henry Brooke and we can't wait to see him over obstacles next season, he hopefully looks like a very exciting recruit for his owners.
To finish on our mix of highlights the season, we couldn't not mention our first-ever four-timer, taking us to 56 winners of the season.
On a sunny day at Ludlow Racecourse, we had plenty of runners, and Horracio Apples, Special Dragon, Mrs Tabitha and Go On Chez have all been waiting for conditions to come right for them and finally, it happened, proving patience pays off!
This season has been amazing and is a testimony to all of the hard work and patience put in by all of the team. Thank you to the owners and the supporters too as it wouldn't have been possible without everyone involved!
