Spring Festivals
This is always an exciting time of year for any National Hunt trainer, and it’s no different for us. We aim to build our horses up to peak in the spring. While Cheltenham and Aintree are the headline meetings, there are plenty of other valuable targets, including Ayr, Haydock, Punchestown, and the Go North Series races at Carlisle, Kelso, and Musselburgh.
The horses have remained in good form since our last newsletter, with several pleasing winners. Judicial Deference has been a standout-winning a novice hurdle at Musselburgh before following up in a handicap at Haydock Park, an impressive achievement for an inexperienced horse. He then won at Kelso to qualify for a race at the Punchestown Festival. All being well, he’ll go to Ireland for the final which is very exciting for us and the owners. He has been an excellent purchase, finishing second on debut before winning his next three. His toughness and willingness make him a pleasure to train.
