New Flat Syndicate in Exciting 2 Year Old Colt.
This good moving 2 year old is a son of 4 time Group 1 winner Cracksman and out of 5 time winning mare ‘Ocelot’ who reached a peak rating of 92. She was also finished 4th of 12 in a very competitive Listed race so had a very good standard of form. Ocelot is from a very good family herself being half sister to Nufoos who was a winning black type filly in her racing day and has since produced 4 black type horses.
Cracksman himself, the sire of L’Arc De Triomphe winner ‘Ace Impact’ has a very impressive winners/runners strike rate of 48%.
He was bought from the Tattersalls Book 3 sale and he really caught our eye with his physical presence and he was a lovely mover. His dam ‘Ocelot’ has had 2 winners from 3 runs and both winners were running to around the 70 mark and having seen all of her runners as yearlings previously, we are confident that this son of Cracksman has the potential to be the best of all her produce yet.
Ex Jockey Shane Kelly has had him since we purchased him from the sales and does a fantastic job. He is really happy with his progress and is doing plenty of steady cantering and looks ready to start stepping up a gear now. With the dam being such a good filly over 6 furlongs and Cracksman bringing in the toughness and consistency he showed up to 10/12 furlongs, you would hope that he looks the type to start off over 6 or 7 furlongs in late summer before hopefully progressing into a lovely back-end 2-year-old before hopefully a very exciting 3-year-old season.
He is now ready to join the string here at Stockton and will be arriving in the coming weeks. He has progressed a lot with Shane, and looks the type who won’t take too long to get on the track and will prove to be a very fun horse for all involved.
