All monies raised go to The Matt Hampson Foundation - matthampsonfoundation.org £7k from the joining fees and then all owners and trainers % of the prize money. We will do the training fees at cost to support this amazing charity.
The Matt Hampson Foundation inspires and supports young people seriously injured through sport, through expert physiotherapy, specialist personal training, support, mentoring and advice. The Foundation helps people with life-changing injuries to get back to living again. They help a lot of sports people including Grand National winning jockey Graham Lee with whom I rode and have heard is benefitting hugely from this charity.
My cousin Lara Weatherby is a beneficiary of the Matt Hampson Foundation and visits twice weekly for specialist neurophysiotherapy. Lara is also an ambassador for the foundation and helps raise awareness for this fantastic charity and the amazing support available.
We have chosen Get Busy Jumping (out of Dragonera by Postponed), who is a very special horse, bred at Preston Lodge by Lara’s father, Johnny Weatherby. He is beautifully bred and having trained and won with his siblings Dog Fox and Special Dragon, he is showing all the signs to be top class.
