Power On Demand is a striking son of Jet Away and a half-brother to the 132-rated Royal Jewel. Although very green and inexperienced on his debut, he still showed plenty of promise and gave every indication that there was much more to come.
He took a huge step forward on his second start, winning impressively despite not having the best run from the final bend. We were particularly taken by the way he stayed on strongly to the line and his fluent jumping, both of which suggested he is a horse with a bright future.
The victory also provided his trainer with his first winner in two years. His horses are well known for improving significantly with time and experience, as demonstrated by the fact that he previously sold Constitution Hill after he was beaten in his point-to-point.
When we visited Warren's yard in February, Power On Demand was the horse he highlighted as his standout four-year-old. His athletic physique and natural presence immediately caught the eye, and we have followed his progress closely ever since. We were therefore delighted to secure him.
He qualifies for the 100k Tattersalls Ireland Bumper at Christmas, which gives him an exciting target for the season ahead. Looking further ahead, we believe he has all the attributes to develop into a high-class staying chaser, and we are excited to see what the future holds for him.
