Retired Horses

It gives us great satisfaction to see former yard favourites thriving in new disciplines. Poppy works tirelessly to place them in suitable homes, and the updates we receive are always much appreciated, check out our ROR horses here.

Grand Coureur

Grand Coureur is a French bred horse who showed early promise as a youngster on the track but then lost his way a little. He came to us having been disappointing for his previous trainer. With us he won two and was second eight times. He gave his owners a lot of fun and all the staff at the yard loved him as he was straightforward to ride and deal with. He is now enjoying a new career show jumping where he is very well looked after.

Arctic Road

Arctic Road was always a yard favourite, being so easy to ride and everyone loved him. He won three races over hurdles for his very loyal owner John Wilson who had plenty of fun days with him. He is now in a very happy home, hacking out and doing all things equestrian.

Adjournment

We bought Adjournment after he finished second in two British Point-to-Points. He is a tall good-looking horse with a kind nature but was always very enthusiastic with us and wanted to get on with the job. He showed plenty of promise, finishing third in two hurdle races, but then unfortunately picked up an injury. His owners gave him plenty of time off and he is now having a very happy retirement from racing at a yard near here with Amy who loves him and takes him on fun rides whilst also eventing to a good level.

Lord County

Lord County is a beautiful grey horse with a fantastic temperament who was one of the first we bought from France. He won four races over hurdles and fences for us and was a real yard favourite. He got up to a rating of 120 which is no mean feat, and at that time in our early days, he was one of our top-rated horses. It is great to see him thriving in his new career in the showing world.

Bay of Australia

Bay of Australia went with the team from Chester Racecourse as a part of National Racehorse Week to Chester city centre to bring racing to people who may have never encountered it, Bay was fantastic and drew a crowd.

Herbiers

Herbiers was a real stable star and gave us our first big Class 2 Saturday winner at Sandown at the end of the 2021 National Hunt season. He never showed anything at home and was always so lazy and stuffy, but he came alive on the track. He ran a cracking race at Cheltenham to finish second over hurdles so then went chasing and won well at Newbury looking to relish fences. Sadly, after picking up an injury and having time off he never recovered that early form so we retired him to a lovely riding home where he is loved and cared for like a king.

Ice Coast

Ice Coast was not in training with us for long as, having shown promise in France as a youngster, he did not transfer that form to the UK. He is a beautiful looking horse now excelling in the eventing world.

Mrs Tabitha

Now with Molly Day (Ryan, her husband, rides out for us) she is progressing well in lessons with Molly and will soon be outcompeting.
