We clocked up just over 600 miles this weekend in the lorry which hopefully we will not have to do for a while! It was worth it though- Captive Audience was disappointing on Saturday but we are learning about him and he will run better on faster ground. Threapwood finished fifth but was not beaten far and I was pleased with the way he jumped and travelled in a strongly run race.
We went to Garthorpe on Sunday which was extremely wet and cold, it did not suit Mr Trump or Forlovenormoney who both ran below par but are fine and will be better on decent ground. Sheriff Hutton ran in blinkers for the first time and travelled and jumped a lot better in them and won with a bit up his sleeve. All being well he will run at Hereford in a couple of weeks. Sprint de Ferbet finished second, he ran well but was carrying a 7lb penalty which made all the difference.
